Ariel Clinical Services was founded in 1994 in Grand Junction, Colorado. We are a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) Child Placement Agency and Adult Service Agency and provide an array of services for children, families, and adults. We are currently the third largest Child Placement Agency in the state serving approximately 200 children in foster care. We are serving an increasing number of adults with developmental disabilities at all three of our locations. Ariel Clinical Services was started by Kregg Thornburg, a special education teacher in Mesa County. Kregg had a passion and commitment to children that others found difficult to manage. He loved to think outside the box and take a creative approach to helping kids challenged by their life circumstances. Kregg's drive to help these children led him to the therapeutic foster care model and the beginning of Ariel Clinical Services. Kregg passed away in 2003 of Lou Gehrig's disease but his legacy lives on today. Ariel has expanded their services to included serving adults with developmental disabilities and other unique programs to help children and families thrive. Ariel Clinical Services has three different office locations in Grand Junction, Denver, and Colorado Springs. We have both foster homes and host homes in those communities as well as the surrounding areas. We are a primary provider of foster care with Denver, Adams, Rio Blanco, and Mesa Counties Department of Human Services and serve several other counties as well on both the Front Range and the Western Slope of Colorado.
