Any Baby Can Child and Family Resource Center has served Austin/Travis County and its surrounding communities for almost 30 years as a premiere, comprehensive family service organization. Any Baby Can's mission is to ensure that all children reach their potential through education, therapy, and family support services. Each year, Any Baby Can brings help and hope to more than 5,000 of Austin's youngest, sickest, and poorest children. CEDEN (Center for Development, Education, and Nutrition) Family Resource Center began providing Austin with comprehensive services in 1979 to promote and strengthen families in need of prenatal, early childhood, and parenting education. The agency provided services to improve birth outcomes, prevent and reverse developmental delays, increase positive parenting behaviors, reduce injuries, and ensure timely immunizations. CEDEN served primarily low socio-economic status families and parents with children birth to five years who have or are at risk of becoming developmentally delayed. In 1992, Any Baby Can of Austin began serving the community after the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) conducted a needs assessment in Austin and determined that a significant population of children with special needs resided in the area. DSHS provided funding to replicate the efforts of the highly successful Any Baby Can, an agency founded in San Antonio in 1982. Programming was designed to "save the child without losing the family" by improving access to services and health care, and providing support and advocacy for families of children with special needs. Seven years ago, CEDEN Family Resource Center and Any Baby Can of Austin merged, forming Any Baby Can Child and Family Resource Center. In November, 2003, the Any Baby Can family welcomed a new member, the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of the Austin Area. Founded in 1988 as a grassroots, parent-driven nonprofit, Candlelighters assisted children and families battling childhood cancer. As the number of families seeking services grew, the organization evolved into a combined effort between professional social workers and parent/mentor programs to help families cope with the challenges of having a child with cancer. By building on their individual traditions of quality community service while combining their experiences and resources, Any Baby Can Child and Family Resource Center has expanded the impact and range of all three original agencies for the good of families in Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop Counties.
They do business with integrity and rational thinking. Overall, it's an excellent place to work, with products that are winning in the marketplace.
