Founded in 1952, ACHIEVE(formerly Broome-Tioga ARC) is a private, non-profit organization founded by parents of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. ACHIEVE serves more than 1,600 individuals each year through a variety of programs and services. ACHIEVEoffers a full range of Employment, Day, Residential, Family Support, Guardianship and Medicaid Service Coordination services to individuals and their families throughout Broome and Tioga Counties. It is the Vision of ACHIEVEto be the selected resource recognized for providing premiere services to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families as evidenced by outstanding participant satisfaction. It is the Mission of ACHIEVEto provide leadership, advocacy and opportunities which enable persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families to enhance the quality of their lives. To this end, all of our services help to advance the skill levels of our participants, promote inclusion, integration and socialization, and encourage independence. Leadership-In partnership with business, education, government and other community organizations, ACHIEVE is a leader in promoting the abilities of persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, in working to influence legislation relating to this part of the population, and in increasing their acceptance as valued members of the community. Advocacy-In partnership with families, ACHIEVE is an advocate for persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in problem resolution, identifying unmet needs, and obtaining services. Opportunities -In partnership with persons with intellectual and other development disabilities, ACHIEVE provides opportunities for employment, housing, family living, and social activities marked by full community integration while maintaining choice, safety and respect.

some of the garden facilities weren't very accessible to those with mobility issues, which seemed silly in a place built for disabled folks
