The Atlanta Community Food Bank is a highly respected regional center for leadership on hunger and poverty. We are known for the quality of our expertise in food distribution, education, training, advocacy, collaboration and community building. Our goals are achieved by a diverse, skilled, and creative staff supported by a dynamic yet balanced work environment, well-integrated systems and a landmark facility with capacity for growth. We help build the capacity of our member agencies and other community institutions to help individuals gain long-term food security. In the coming years, we will be working hard to make sure this description fits us. We have set several things in motion to help make this vision of the Food Bank a reality. Last year, we worked with our Board of Directors in an intensive strategic planning process. Through that process, we created a detailed road map to get us to the destination described in our Vision Statement. We are now working with consultants, most of whom are donating their time, to redesign our facilities so that we can effectively use our space, equipment, technology, staff and volunteers to collect and distribute as much food as possible, as efficiently as possible. As we plan for the future, we must determine whether our operations will be most efficient with a shopping floor where member agencies continue to come to the Food Bank to select food or, whether we will someday lead a pre-ordering system.
They do business with integrity and rational thinking. Overall, it's an excellent place to work, with products that are winning in the marketplace.
