Americom Technology, formally known as United Cable Telephone, was founded in 1981 as a partnership between Ronald J. Richter and Patrick W. Birkel, but has since taken on a third owner, Patrick J. Richter. The company formed to provide singlesource telecommunication construction and installation for companies like University of Utah, the state of Utah, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Verizon Wireless and Wells Fargo Bank. With more than 60 employees, the company has steadily grown to become a $15 million company. Its founding principle is to provide turnkey design, integration, certification and support for information transport system solutions comprised of structured cabling, IP telephony, telephone and voice mail networking, as well as wireless and physical pathway solutions. Americom Technologyis headquartered in Salt Lake City. Although its focus market area is Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada, Americom Technology has created project value for both public and private clients throughout the country.
