The owner, Tony, wants to get the most out of each employee's contribution as he can. That being said, he understands and appreciates the need for a healthy work life balance and supports his people in taking time for family. I left a 70+ hour work week with a competitor where my personal time was not valued at all. It was always about work, all the time. I have personally seen our owner get furious because one of his vehicles was driving on a Sunday. He was mad because he wanted the employee home with their family, not working for Active. He holds events throughout the year and invites family to attend. He actively encourages each of the branches to spend money every month on team building. More than anything, it is wonderful to have control over your operation. If you have networking and marketing ideas you want to explore, you have the opportunity to do that. I went years having absolutely zero impact on my marketing spend. Coming to Active and being able to make decisions about advertising was a refreshing change. Being supported by the company to join organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, BNI, Real Estate Boards and even being a part of the GPCA.... it's been great. If you are hard working, driven to success, ambitious and creative... this may be the place for you.

Active is a highly competitive company with a unique culture. It takes a certain kind of manager to be truly effective here. If you are doing a great job, you stand out and are recognized publicly for it. If you aren't doing so great.... everyone will know and you will stand out for the wrong reasons. This is absolutely NOT a good place for managers that want to ride a desk. This IS a company for hustlers that are ready to get out, beat the streets and grow a business. If you're scared of being challenged, and scared of being held accountable, look elsewhere.
